Service user D is a 57-year-old man with complete tetraplegia following a spinal cord injury. He needs full ventilator support, tracheostomy care and PEG feeding. NL Group took over his package in 2021 and now delivers 24/7 care — 336 hours a week.

Service user D is a 57-year-old man who sustained a severe spinal cord injury at the C4/5 vertebrae after falling from a ladder while working as a window cleaner. The injury resulted in complete tetraplegia, and he is now fully dependent on others for all aspects of daily life and clinical care.
As his support needs grew more complex, NL Group was asked to take over his care package in 2021, and now delivers 24/7 care.
“Providing 24-hour care for someone with such complex needs is a responsibility we don’t take lightly. Our goal is always to deliver consistent, expert support that empowers the individual to live life on their terms.” — NL Group Team Lead

His needs were high-acuity and continuous:

NL Group first provided ad hoc support to assist with clinical tasks and build rapport.
At the service user’s own request, NL Group was asked to assume full responsibility for his care.
A specialist team trained in tracheostomy care, ventilator management, PEG feeding and complex manual handling.
A consistent team supports a more active, socially fulfilling life while expertly managing his clinical needs.
