Support Worker for Adults with Learning Difficulties
DESCRIPTION
Due to our rapid and exciting growth we are currently recruiting for Support workers for adults with learning disabilities workers within Scunthorpe area.
You will be passionate about working with children, young adults and adults in a person-centred way who have Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Mental Health conditions and other disabilities who at times may display challenging behaviour.
You will be supporting people to live in their own homes and/or their family homes to achieve and improve their quality of life by engaging them in their local community and empowering them to identify their goals, pursue their interest and hobbies.
WORKING HOURS
- up to 12-hour day
- up to 24 hours sleeping shift
- Waking 12-hour night
Required
Full UK driving license preferred.
Access to own vehicle
*If you have already have clinical skills complex care management this is an advantage, however individualised induction training will be given to the successful candidate.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Experience in a Care/Support role
Working with individuals with mental health conditions and challenging behaviour
Experience of implementing strategies for individuals who express their frustrations and needs through challenging behaviour.
Compassionate and empathetic
The ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with vulnerable people and their families.
Competent IT skills
An interest in people and a commitment to helping others.
